Sublime Gerwyn Price runs riot in Manchester Premier League Darts Night Nine – Manchester
The Iceman picked up his second nightly win with a trio of 6-2 victories, averaging over a ton in all three games.
The world #9 beat Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting and Gian van Veen on his way to bagging a huge five points, sending him up to second in the league standings.
Match 1: Michael van Gerwen vs Stephen Bunting
Bunting took an early 5-0 lead including popping a 161 in leg two. Michael van Gerwen fired back with three legs on the spin before the Bullet put an end to any comeback hitting double 16.
The Green machine missed eight darts on the outer ring with three out of 11. Bunting missed just three darts at double with a 66.67% checkout rate. The Bullet’s victory over MVG was just his third quarter final win of the event so far.

Match 2: Gerwyn Price vs Luke Humphries
Price got straight into the thick of it taking out 167 in his first leg of the night. The Iceman followed up with a 135 in leg two. The Welsh #2 missed just one dart at double and pinned tops to book a semi-final clash with the Bullet.
Humphries is still yet without a win after nine weeks of actions and has made just one final in Nottingham. Cool Hand takes on Jonny Clayton in Brighton next week looking to close the gap to the top four.

Match 3: Gian van Veen vs Luke Littler
The Dutchman won four of the first five legs after going 1-0 down. However, the Nuke came firing back and sent the tie to a last leg decider.
Luke Littler missed double seven for a 134 checkout, van Veen then came inside on double 15 allowing the Nuke another three match darts. Littler blew his chance coming inside on his second dart and van Veen pinned double six to wrap up the contest.
The tasty affair had a bit of everything, but the drama all came in the last leg. The Nuke appeared to jeer when the young Dutchman came inside on double 15. After defeat there was a frosty handshake between the pair.

Match 4: Jonny Clayton vs Josh Rock
Josh Rock beat Jonny Clayton for back-to-back quarter final wins over the Welsh #1. Rocky took out 126 followed by 150 to take a 2-0 lead and then took out 64 to go three up.
Clayton bounced back reeling off the next three legs. Rocky took three of the next four legs to pick up another two points and booking a spot in the semi-finals against van Veen.

Semi-final 1: Stephen Bunting vs Gerwyn Price
Price continued his stellar form averaging a whopping 113 against the Bullet. The Welsh #2 reeled in the Big Fish in leg three to go 2-1 up, with the celebration to match.
The Iceman saw the game off with another ton+ finish popping 112 to book a spot in his third final of the campaign. Price missed just three darts at double on the way to victory meaning he’d missed four from 16 in his first two games.

Semi-final 2: Gian van Veen vs Josh Rock
Despite averaging 103 Rock was unable to book a spot in his first final, with the van Veen to hot to handle for the Northern Ireland star.
The pair both held throw in the opening six legs at three a piece. Van Veen then reeled off the next three legs taking out 160 for the match to set up a tie against Price in the final, his fourth of the campaign.

Final: Gerwyn Price vs Gian van Veen
The Iceman saw off the night in style with a third 6-2 victory roaring into a 4-0 lead. Price continued his ton+ finishing checking out 128 twice in legs one and three.
The world #3 managed to hold throw in legs five and seven but it wasn’t enough to stop Price picking up his second nightly win. Price pinned his beloved tops for the match.
The former World Champ again missed just three darts on the outer ring averaging 72% on his doubles for the night.

A huge five points means Price leapfrogs his Welsh compatriot Clayton into second moving just two points behind Littler. The Iceman takes on Rocky next week in Brighton.
