Match Preview – Chester-le-Street Town vs Alnwick Town
Chester-le-Street Town welcome Alnwick Town to Moor Park on Saturday for a Northern League Division Two fixture.
Saturday’s contest is an important game as the season draws to a close, fought between two sides that are evenly matched in the table.
With both teams in the top 10, the focus has been on finishing the season strongly, building good momentum and form going into this final fixture, which could be huge for where they finish in the table.
Earlier in the season, Alnwick Town came away with a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture, a result that may give them a confidence boost heading into this weekend.
However, a game at Moor Park could prove vital, with Chester-le-Street Town hoping to make home advantage count.
With Chester picking up two wins out of their last five, one of them being a 1-0 victory over local rivals Park View AFC, they will look to find their best form again going into Saturday for the final game of their season.
The visitors however, have won three out of their last five, coming off a big 3-1 win against Darlington Town last time out – and once again, they will not be looking to let that form slip against Chester Town on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday 18th April at Moor Park.
