Newcastle Benfield and Whitley Bay face off in the Northumberland Senior Cup semi-final on Tuesday at Sam Smith’s Park.

Andre Bennett levelled for Benfield from the spot on the 70th minute, before Mackenzie Sharpe got the winner for The Seahorses.

The Lions currently occupy 13th position, with safety secured for another season.

They’re on 42 points, level with Penrith and Thornaby. 

As for Whitley Bay, they currently sit third in the table and have secured a play-off spot.

They will face fourth-placed West Auckland Town on April 25, in the Northern League Division One play off semi-final.
