Deividas Sulskas ecstatic following swift main event victory vs. Ryan Bates at Machine MMA 47

Deividas Sulskas competed in the main event versus Ryan Bates at Machine MMA 47 at The Fed in Gateshead on May 2nd.

Sulskas was looking to make a defence of his Machine MMA title after winning the belt in November 2024, where he defeated Daniel Mole to win the vacant welterweight championship.

The North-West Academy representative took the opportunity to defend his belt on #MACHINE47 to solidify himself at the top of the division and to remain the champion.

“Once you defend it, it can come extra special. No one can say it is a fluke. I have three belts at home now, and no one can take them away from me.”

Following his swift victory, Sulskas took relatively no damage in the fight, with it being a smooth sailing one-sided beatdown in an 18-second submission over the very game Bates, who was ultimately way overmatched.

“Not wasting time. He left his neck wide open, so I took it. It would be stupid not to take it.”

Defending his title would be sweet, but Sulskas was surprised with ‘Submission of the Night’ that saw him take home £250. However, Sulskas admitted straight away he would use his bonus as a goodwill gesture and donate it straight to charity.

Sulskas mentioned that he would like to face Brett Nolan next time he competes on Machine MMA, another contest that will see him square off against another Ox Fight Academy fighter. Sulskas and Nolan were set to fight each other last year before a back injury from Sulskas unfortunately ruled him out of the fight.
