South Shields vs Kidderminster Harriers Play-off Final preview
South Shields and Kidderminster Harriers meet this weekend for the National League North play-off final of this season, at the 1st Cloud Arena.
South Shields come into the match carrying the momentum of an excellent season in which they established themselves as one of the most dangerous attacking teams in the division. Their 1-0 semi-final victory over Buxton has given them the opportunity to participate in the final and fight for promotion.
Kidderminster arrive in the North East looking like a team built for big occasions. Under Phil Brown, the Harriers have found consistency and experience at exactly the right time of the season. Their play-off semi-final win over Macclesfield has also boosted their momentum and look to get the business done against the mariners.
The visitors appear to be the favourites of this fixture as in their last three head-to-head fixtures, the Harriers have won all three, with their biggest win over them in March of last year where they beat them 5-0.
South Shields have the home advantage and arguably the stronger attacking threat, but Kidderminster’s recent form and history in this matchup make them extremely difficult to overlook.
