Sunderland RCA Vs Horden CW match preview

Sunderland RCA are in a transitional phase as a club and will be hoping to avoid the drop this season.

Sunderland RCA find themselves lounging in the relegation zone in 21st place three points of safety.

They could find themselves out of the relegation zone by the end of Tuesday night as they play top of the league Horden CW. If RCA win they could leapfrog Boldon CA and Grangetown Boys Club in the table.

Mark Forrest took the helm of RCA during the summer following their division one relegation and the club are fighting for stability as things stand.

This will be an uphill climb for the Real Reds as they are coming off a spell of no wins in four games – most recently losing 2-0 away to Jarrow. Horden are flying high and looking to create a gap between them and the rest of the league.

Horden will be strong favourites as they head up the A19 to Ryhope, but nothing is guaranteed in football and this game has the potential to cause a big shock.

The league leaders are coming into this one on the back of consecutive defeats. However, their sights will be firmly set on three points here.

Sunderland RCA may have lost their last few, but they have been in games despite playing some of the league’s toughest opponents lately. They have just lost South Shields academy centre back, James Sloan to Whickham in the league above and it will be interesting to see how Forrest and his team deal with the promising youngster’s absence.

Alex Clark has come the other way from Whickham, but it remains to be seen whether the 16-year-old will go straight into the squad this week.

Kick off is 7.30pm at the Lillian’s Blinds Arena this Tuesday evening.
