Chelsea 1 – 2 Sunderland: Talbi’s late winner earns Black Cats three points at Stamford Bridge

Sunderland stunned World Champions Chelsea with an injury time winner to continue their extraordinary start to the season.
Chelsea struck inside the first four minutes with a well worked goal by Alejandro Garnacho, but were pegged back by Sunderland with Wilson Isidor grabbing an equaliser in the first half. Sunderland snatched all three points in injury time through Chemsdine Talbi’s late winner.
Regis Le Bris made two changes from their win at home to Wolves, with Omar Alderete injured, up stepped Lutsharel Geertruida and Chris Rigg made way for Reinaldo after his 3match ban.
Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca also made three changes from their win over Nottingham Forest, with Malo Gusto, Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos getting replaced by Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandes and former ex-loanee for Sunderland, Mark Guiu.
In the fourth minute, the deadlock was broken by Chelsea, with Pedro Neto winning the ball in midfield, putting a pass into space for Garnacho, leaving him a one-on-one before putting the ball past Robin Roefs.
22 minutes in, Sunderland hit back with an equaliser. A long throw in found its way into the box, before Isidor plucked it out, and hit it past Sanchez to tie up the scores.
It would take until the 93rd minute for the winner, after a strong Brian Brobbey laid off the ball to Talbi, striking into the bottom left corner to steal all three points at the death.

Sunderland are up to second in the league on 17 points, whilst Chelsea still sits on 14 points.

Sunderland host Everton on Monday the 3rd of November, where they welcome back one of their former managers David Moyes, with Chelsea heading to North London to face their rivals Spurs.
