Hebburn back to winning ways against Bishop Auckland as Richardson bags brace

Ebac Northern League Division 1

Hebburn Town 2-0 Bishop Auckland

Richardson 52,64

A Michael Richardson brace ensured Hebburn Town got back to winning ways today beating Bishop Auckland at the Energy Check Sports Ground.

The Hornets started the game well and came close in the 10th minute when Olly Martin’s cross was deflected onto the crossbar.

Three minutes later they should’ve had the lead when Luke Sullivan slid the ball straight into the goalkeeper’s hands from close range.

Bishop Auckland’s first real chance came in the 24th minute when Kyle Fyratt’s shot was saved by the legs of Mark Foden.

Seven minutes into the second half, Hebburn took the lead when Foden launched the ball forward and it reached Richardson who lobbed Nicholas Liversedge one-on-one.

Richardson added a second in the 64th minute when he was on the receiving end of a good ball in from the right and he slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner.

Bishop came close 12 minutes later when Kyle Morris headed wide on the end of a free kick.

Morris came close again in the 86th minute when he cut through the defence on the left but his effort was saved by the legs of Foden.

Despite added pressure near the end, Hebburn held on for the victory.
