Arsenal V Newcastle United preview.

Newcastle United travel away to the Emirates tomorrow in the 12:30pm kick-off and with Arsenal winning four of their last five matches their is reason for toon fans to be worried about tomorrows game.

However with news breaking that Head coach Eddie Howe will be in the dugout for the first time and scoring three goals against Brentford last week Newcastle may be able to grab their first win this season.

The Newcastle Head coach has however been hit with some fitness issues for striker Dwight Gayle after he injured his hamstring in training this week. He is now a doubt for the trip to the Emirates while defender Paul Dummett still remains on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Mikel Arteta has no new injury problems ahead of the clash with Newcastle who fell to the foot of the table following Norwich City’s victory over Southampton on Saturday. Sead Kolasinac remains missing after picking up an ankle injury while away on international duty for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Newcastle’s last victory at the Emirates was over 11 years ago after an Andy Carroll header which was enough to take all three points while the gunners have won all of their last seven meetings with Newcastle only conceding one goal.

Arsenal will be looking for Emile Smith-Rowe to once again be the difference maker with 6 goal contributions in twelve appearances while the Magpies will be looking for talisman Allan Saint-Maximin and record signing Joelinton to threaten Arsenal’s backline throughout the game after the pair put in a superb performance against Brentford with both getting onto the scoresheet.

A win could lift Mikel Arteta’s men into Champions League qualification spots ahead of London rivals West Ham if they’re beaten away at Manchester City on Sunday. If Newcastle can produce their first win of the season it could push them up to 19th and put them right back into the mix for survival.
