Gateshead handed Emirates FA Cup home tie against Colne

Gateshead FC have been handed a home tie against BetVictor Northern Premier League Division One North West side Colne.

Mike Williamson’s men will host the Lancashire side on Saturday 19 October at the Gateshead International Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Colne are one of the lowest-ranked sides left in the FA Cup but have already dumped fellow Tynesider’s Dunston UTS out of the competition.

Steve Cunningham’s Colne narrowly beat Dunston 3-2 on the weekend to earn themselves a spot in the Fourth Qualifying Round.

Meanwhile, the Heed have already overcome Ramsbottom United and Kidsgrove Athletic to reach this stage of the competition and will have their sights firmly on a place in the hat for the next round.

One step away from the First Round proper sees the introduction of teams from the National League and the winners of the clash will scoop £18,750 in prize money.
