Match Preview: Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland
Sunderland travel to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening, looking to bounce back from a 5-1 demolition away at Rotherham on Saturday.
SAFC have suffered three defeats in their last five league games, including losses to Portsmouth and Charlton as well as Rotherham United, seeing them fall to 5th place in League One.
Sheff Wed are unbeaten in their last five games, however have only won in that time with a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers back on the 9th of this month.
This was before four continuous draws against Wimbledon, Cambridge, Lincoln and Cheltenham. In the last 6 meetings between the two sides, Sunderland have won three and Sheff Wed have won twice, with the sides sharing the points on one occassion.
The Owls’ last home win against the Black Cats came all the way back in 1997, in a 2-1 win.

Ross Stewart- The Scottish forward has bagged 10 goals in 14 league appearances this season for Sunderland including four headed goals which could be an area for Lee Johnson’s side to exploit.
Lee Gregory- The Sheff Wed forward has scored five goals and set up two for his team-mates in the process.
