Match report: Hebburn Town FC 2 – 0 North Ferriby FC
Two quick goals in five minutes took Hebburn Town top of the Northern Premier League East Table.
The first action of the game came in the 34th minute as North Ferriby’s Josh Morrall was shown a straight red card.
After a goalless first half the first goal of the game came in the 67th minute from Hebburn’s Amar Purewal.
Hebburn doubled their lead shortly after in the 72nd minute by a goal from Olly Martin.
Hebburn Town went into the game level on points with top spot title rivals Belper Town after winning their last game in the final minutes. North Ferriby went into the game also having won their last match after coming from behind to win 3-1.
The first talking point of the game came when Ferriby’s Morrall was shown a straight red card for bringing down Dean Briggs just outside the box.
After an even half the first goal came from a right-sided cross from Martin, who put it on a plate for Purewal to head the ball into the back of the net.
Just minutes later Hebburn doubled their lead as a scramble in the box found its way to Martin who fired it home.
Another win for The Hornets took them top of the league with rivals Belper Town still to play.
