Match report: Gosforth RFC 52 – 22 Seghill

Gosforth RFC made it three wins in a row after a 52 -22 win over Seghill in their Counties 3 Durham and Northumberland fixture on Saturday.
The first try came after just 12 minutes from Leon Kelly having grabbed the ball from a line out. Poor Possession from Seghill in the 20th minute saw Tom Hall extend the home team’s lead.
Johnny Ward scored a number of tries in the game and steered Gosforth quite ahead in the game. Seghill got back into the game but ran out of a time for a comeback.
Gosforth coming into the game had won their last two games and they would be looking to make it three in a row after a couple of weeks of bad form
A line out saw Kelly leap up for the ball and catch it he slipped past the Seghill defence and scored the try.
Seghill gained back control of the ball but was sloppy, eventually leading to them dropping the ball, Hall took the ball got past the opposition by running to his right-hand side went straight forward with a try.
Despite a dominating performance from Gosforth, Seghill managed to boost their confidence with a few tries.
Seghill had a cautious moment in the game as when James Callendar went for a try, he was tackled down but the ball landed on the try line though it would be given a double movement.
Seghill played better in the second half and got a few more tries but Ward steered his team clear
