Horden CW 3-1 Billingham Town

Billingham Town look for cup revenge as they take on fourth place Horden CW in the Ebac Northern League.

Horden took the lead inside 8 minutes through Jack Pounder.

Were Pounder strikes again just before the whistle blows for half time to make it two nil.

Early into the second half Horden grab a third through a deflected cross in the 48th minute.

Yet with twenty minutes to go Horden go down to 10 men.

With ten minutes left Billingham grab a third which would be a consolation goal.

Back in October Horden faced Billingham at home in the Durham Challenge Cup first round.

However, Horden won 3-1 in what was a very tight affair.

Horden started the game brightly with a few big chances before a ball whipped back post saw Pounder head one in from close range.

The game became quite even until Horden’s number nine strikes again with another powerful header beating his man and the keeper to give Horden a two-goal advantage.

Horden didn’t stop there with a defected cross fly into the net as Horden went three goals up.

Billingham get given a lifeline however when Horden saw a man sent off to go down to ten.

Then a great finish by the Billingham Town attacker to get one back in what ended up a repeat of the scoreline in the Cup weeks prior.
