North Shields FC without players and staff due to financial struggles

EBAC Northern League side North Shields FC have announced that all players and management staff will leave the club with immediate effect following financial struggles.

The club announced today that over the past two months, the club has been “financially crippled” with no financial incomings and greater financial outgoings.

North Shields statement earlier today stated “If we continued to pay players and management in full with no incoming finance, unfortunately the club would no longer exist.”

The management team met with players leading to the players and management team leaving the club with immediate effect.

“We now start the very difficult task of rebuilding the club which is steeped in history and located within a fantastic community.”

Founded in 1896, North Shields were meant to play Carlisle City tomorrow in Division One of the EBAC Northern League with the game now being postponed.

The club is working with the league with regards to their remaining games.

Fans and supporters have took to social media with regards to the news.

The Back Page Newcastle said: “So sad to hear of this tragic news from one of our region’s great non-league clubs. Hopefully a solution will be found, and they can come back stronger”
