5 Players NUFC could aim to sign this summer
With Newcastle United looking to finish the premier league season in another European position Eddie Howe and his team will look to strengthen after a season of struggle with injuries and suspensions.
- Micheal Olise RW
One of Newcastle’s main targets has to be Micheal Olise from Crystal Palace. The right wing position for Newcastle united has been a problem for recent years with Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy struggling to deliver the end product needed to compete in the best competitions of all. The Frenchman has shown his star quality for the Eagles this year providing 13 goal contributions in just 17 appearances. The only question mark which could be left on Olise would be his recent injury setbacks (hamstring) in the last 2 years.
- Tosin Aderabayo CB
Another position Newcastle have struggled with has been centre half with injuries to Sven Botman and club captain Jamaal Lascelles. Tosin Aderabayo the right footed centre back will give Newcastle an option for the right side of defence following ACL injuries to two main centre backs along with Fabian Schar having recent hamstring setbacks.
- Morgan Gibbs-White CM
24 year old Morgan Gibbs-White would be a perfect fit for Eddie Howe’s side with his high pressing style and creativity in the midfield position. He showed his quality in the U21 Euro Championships alongside NUFC player Anthony Gordon who would make a great duo in the Premier League. In a struggling Nottingham Forrest side Gibbs-White has provided 5 goals and 8 assists this season and could be a great addition to Newcastle.
- Giorgi Mamardashvilli GK
23 year old Georgian international Giorgi Mamardashvilli has impressed many across the world in his last 2 years at Spanish club Valencia. With Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka both entering there mid 30’s the Magpies will be looking for a young keeper to take the role in the sticks for Newcastle who has achieved 12 clean sheets in La Liga in the 23/24 season.
- Lloyd Kelly CB
25 year old Lloyd Kelly has been in the news in recent weeks with a potential move to the Magpies. The left footed defender would give another option for Newcastle United with his versatility to play at left back. Eddie Howe also has previous experience with the defender having worked at Bournemouth together where Howe signed Kelly from Bristol City.
