Gateshead vs Solihull Moors FA Trophy Final – match preview
Gateshead travel to Wembley Stadium this weekend to play in their second consecutive final in the FA Trophy facing Solihull Moors.
Last year the heed fell short in the final losing out to Halifax town 1-0 and are hoping to bounce back in style against a Solihull Moors side who have just experienced heartbreak of their own, losing to Bromley in the National League Playoff final on penalties.
Gateshead will go into the game after a long time off from the end of the season after being banned from competing in the Playoffs due to a stadium issue. Former Newcastle keeper and Gateshead manager, Rob Elliot will hope his side can take their frustration from their playoff exclusion and use it to produce a memorable performance in the UK’s biggest venue.
Gateshead finished just 1 point off Solihull in the league, both winning against eachother this season.
Team News – Gateshead have their loan signing Brandon Haunstrup available for the FA Trophy Final after he joined last month for the final stages of the season.
As for Solihull Moors, they were missing right-back Jay Benn last time out and he could be sidelined again at Wembley.
