How dangerous are Williams going to be in the 2025 F1 Season?
Williams have gone on a major hiring spree in hopes of improvement next season in James Vowles’ third season as Team Principal in 2025.
After the rumours of Spaniard Carlos Sainz signing for Williams coming true, a driver lineup of Alexander Albon and Sainz for the 2025 season puts the team in good stead to challenge the midfield pack next year.
However having two experienced drivers does not guarantee success in F1. Not only have they signed three-time race winning ‘Smooth Operator’ Sainz, but they have hired 26 new recruits(ten from alpine, four from Red Bull and several others from Mercedes and Ferrari).
11 of these new recruits for Williams are for the Aerodynamic aspect of the team, with the hopes that a better aerodynamics package will help the drivers compete with the best cars on the grid throughout the 2025 season.
F1 fans shouldn’t be surprised if a Williams car is on the podium at some point next season.
Is Vowles the best addition to Williams F1 Team in years? Well from taking over in the 2023 season he had raised the bar for the Grove based team. In the 2022 season Williams finished last in the constructors with only eight points whilst Jost Capito was the Team Principal. Fast forward to the end of the 2023 season, they finished seventh in the constructors with James Vowles as the Team Principal.
Now in the present season they looked to improve from their seventh position in the constructors last year, with Argentine rookie Franco Colapinto in Logan Sargent’s old seat for the last nine races of the season.
However, due to Alpines double podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Williams dropped down the order to ninth in the constructors championship. It’s looking less likely that they can get above ninth position in the constructors with three races left and a gap of 27 points to eighth place, Visa Cash App RB.
This isn’t all negative for Williams however, with the Grove based team improving their aerodynamics staff and with finishing lower in the championship they will have increase wind tunnel time for the 2025 season, meaning the car will improve massively for next season.
They will also have two drivers in 2025 who are World Championship material.
