Newcastle Benfield vs Marske United match preview

Newcastle Benfield are back in Ebac Northern League Division One action  against Marske United at the MKM stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Last time out…

Benfield got a much-needed win at home. They won 2-1 against West Auckland Town with goals from Jack Watson and Joseph Thompson enough to get past Gary Forrest’s side.

Previous meeting…

The sides met in the middle of October, which was Andy Ferguson’s first game in charge. Benfield ran riot as they shocked the inform Marske side with Jakub Zych getting a brace and Kyle Fryatt heading home.

Ryan Smith got Benfield’s fourth before The Seasiders got a late consolation in the final few minutes, resulting in a 4-2 win to The Lions.

Where the sides sit…

The Lions are still in sixth after Tuesday’s win with 59 points and 35 games played. Marske are in 13th place, on 47 points from the same number of games.

The Seasiders will be full of confidence after their huge 3-2 win against Newcastle Blue Star with ten men on Tuesday night. Andy Ferguson’s side will have to be at a good level to see off the visitors.
