Sunderland 2 – 2 Arsenal: Brian Brobbey’s late equaliser earns point against league leaders Arsenal.

Sunderland stretched their unbeaten home run to six games, sharing the spoils with Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Dan
Ballard gave Sunderland the lead before goals in the second half by Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard of Arsenal and Bryan Brobbey of Sunderland resulted in a 22 draw.

Le Bris Sunderland named an unchanged lineup for the third game in a row. However, visitors Arsenal made three changes from their cruising win over Slavia Praha on Tuesday night, with Ricardo Calafiori, Eberechi Eze and Martin Zubimendi replacing Piero Hincapie, Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri.
On the 36th minute, Le Bris’ Sunderland took a welldeserved lead, with former Arsenal academy graduate Ballard netting his second goal of the season, with a Mukiele assist after a Roefs free kick from his own half.
In the second half, Arsenal took the game to Sunderland and on the 54th minute, an equaliser came through Saka with a precise finish from inside the penalty box. Declan Rice pounced on a Enzo Le Fee mistake and Mikel Merino threaded it through to the winger.
On the 73rd minute, Trossard found the net with a spectacular rightfooted shot from outside the penalty area, expertly assisted by Zubimendi to give Arsenal a welldeserved lead.
After four minutes of added time passed, Sunderland’s hard work paid off, Brobbey capitalising on a headed down ball from Ballard to score a crucial equaliser in injury time, to secure a dramatic point for the Black Cats.
Sunderland go into the international break sat in fourth position, and head to Craven Cottage on the 22nd of November to face Fulham, struggling in 15th.
Likewise for the visitors Arsenal, they remain in first position, four points clear of rivals Man City. The Gunners welcome North London rivals Tottenham to the Emirates for the first North London Derby on the 23rd of November.
