Yakup Kurt breaks three-fight skid with first-round submission over Cole Lloyd at Machine MMA 47
Yakup Kurt took on Cole Lloyd at Machine MMA 47 on May 2nd live from The Fed in Gateshead. Kurt, travelling down from Alloa in Scotland, was looking to snap a three-fight losing streak heading into this one.
Kurt would run through Lloyds earning an armbar submission within the first round and showcasing his superior grappling.

The game plan was clear from Kurt; straight from the off, he took his opponent Lloyd down easily and carried him to his corner.
“That was the plan. The whole fight camp I was just drilling that pretty much. Pick him up and take him where I want, dump him and then control him on the ground. He gave me the submission; he gave me his arm and he faced the consequences.”
Riding into this one with low confidence and looking to bounce back with a statement victory to remind everyone what he can produce, Kurt expressed how happy he was to return to winning ways:
“It feels so good; it’s so hard to explain. I am so happy, especially because it is my tenth MMA fight.”
Kurt made a clinical debut on Machine MMA and systematically broke his opponent down with ease in the cage. It is exciting to see what the future holds as the Scotsman now looks to pick up the momentum and go again soon.
