Match Report: Newcastle United 3-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

Newcastle secured their first win in 6 games with goals from William Osula, Dan Burn and Harvey Barnes in a 3-1 victory against Brighton and Hove Albion

Nick Pope made a brilliant save just 2 minutes into the game, stopping Jack Hinshelwood from scoring early. Brighton continued their strong start as a shot from Carlos Baleba struck the crossbar.

Osula almost put his team ahead in the 11th minute but his shot went wide, but just a minute later, Brighton keeper Bart Verbruggen left his area to make a challenge on Jacob Murphy, who quickly passed the ball to Osula, which he scored into the open net.

Newcastles lead was doubled by Burn scoring against his former club in the 24th minute.

Malick Thiaw almost made it 3-0, but Verbruggen saved his shot.

After half time, Pope made another huge save to stop Kaoru Mitoma, but Albion managed to pull one back from Hinshelwood 61 minutes in.

Lewis Hall, Barnes, and Yoanne Wissa replaced Joe Willock, Murphy and Osula in the 67th minute.

Wissa had a brilliant chance to take his side to 3 goals, however his close range shot was off target. In the final minutes of stoppage time Barnes scored to take the final result to 3-1, securing vital points for the Magpies.
