UFC Champion Khamzat Chimaev kicks Sean Strickland at a fiery UFC 328 press conference

Khamzat Chimaev created chaos after the UFC 328 press conference after kicking Sean Strickland in a face off between the two before they meet on Saturday night.

The heated rivalry between the two has reached an all time high with one of the most intense press conferences that the UFC has witnessed in years. Chimaev and Strickland both traded verbal jabs at each other throughout the presser with both men threatening to ‘kill’ each other inside the octagon on Saturday night.

Tensions boiled over at the face off after the press conference where the reigning champion launched a kick at the knee of Strickland who had to be held back by police and security at the event. The former training partners turned rivals have been withheld from some media duties this fight week due to fears from UFC president Dana White that the two may spark a brawl at any given opportunity.

Speaking after the press conference Chimaev said:  “He can try whatever he wants to try, but it’s not going to work with me.

“I see him only doing like jab, jab, right hand, jab. So, if we do just a boxing fight, I can beat this guy up.

“But, I never think about my opponent’s style. Why should I think about what he’s going to do?

“He has only one thing. Just hope. You see UFC 328, going to go there to smash that guy.”

Fans have been eagerly waiting for this matchup between the two with Dana white saying ‘This is in the top three’ for being one of the most intense rivalries in UFC history. Alongside an already stacked card UFC 328 could potentially be the best UFC event this year with fans in New Jersey seemingly in for a treat on Saturday night.
