Eagles fly into WBBL All-Star Five

A big weekend for the Eagles sees Mante Kvederaviciute and Georgia Ohrdorf make the Week Seven dream-team.

“The Lithuanian ace was so good this past weekend, she actually posted a pair of performances that were good enough to make our starting five,” the WBBL website said of Kvederaviciute.

The Lithuania international, who hit 49 points, 18 rebounds & 14 assists across the two games, made the five for her display against Sheffield Hatters at the Eagles Community Arena.

The forward was unstoppable as she scored 27 points, 10 rebounds and fell narrowly short of a triple-double with seven assists during the Hatters’ visit.

Fellow forward Ohrdorf sealed her All-Star place with a game leading performance against the Manchester Mystics. The league leader in rebounds and drawing fouls, Ohrdorf scored 25 points, shooting 78% from the floor, and snatched 12 boards in Manchester.

Sevenoaks Suns’ Cat Carr, Manchester Mystics’ Sara Djassi and Nottingham Wildcats’ Jasmine Joyner, in the five in all seven game weeks so far, joined the Eagles pair. Nicolette Fong Lyew Quee of the Durham Palatinates made the bench.
