Jessica Young-Rogers breaks PB

Team Sunderland sprinter Jessica Young-Rogers broke her own personal best time over 60m, recording an impressive time of 7.94.

Her previous best coming into the Championships was marginally slower at 7.98 last year at the Gateshead Harriers Open Series.

Young-Rogers was delighted with the result:

“Over the moon to have achieved a PB and to get to the semis in my first year of BUCS championships” she said.

Young-Rogers registered the time in the preliminary heats and recorded an equally impressive time in the semi-final of 7.97, which would have been a PB had it not been for her quicker time in the heats.

The North-East sprinter finished 29th overall from a possible 86 in the prelims and came 26th from 32 in the semi-finals.

The 60m final was won by Cheyanne Evans-Gray from University of East London who posted a time of 7.28 in the final.
