Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team prize added to British F4 Championship

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team is gifting a rare opportunity to the 2023 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA winner.

The driver who tops the 2023 standings will receive a Formula One simulator experience at the team’s state-of-the-art campus in Brackley.

After the 2023 British F4 championship comes to an end, the winner will get to spend half a day at the home of the eight-time World Constructors’ Champions, undertaking a full session in the Mercedes-AMG F1 simulator.

Following a similar program to that of World Championship winner Sir Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, the driver will work closely with the team’s engineers throughout the process.

Following from a pre-session briefing, the winner will undertake a full driving programme, receiving coaching and feedback throughout the session, before completing with a post-session debrief.

In addition to the Mercedes-AMG Formula One simulator experience, the winner will also receive an experience with McLaren Racing. This includes, embedding into the team for the British Grand Prix, a year-long coaching programme and expert guidance from BWT Alpine Formula One team at the Alpine Racing Human Performance Centre.

The prize will help the driver continue their development and prepare them for their future steps into their racing career.

The FIA F4 Championships are designed specifically as a road to Formula one for young drivers and the British F4 Championship now holds official links with three of the current running Formula One teams.

CEO of Motorsport UK, Hugh Chambers, commented: “On behalf of Motorsport UK and the British F4 Championship, I’d like to thank Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 for this generous contribution. We are very much about development of our drivers and this prize is a great step in their career“The winner having the simulator experience and the opportunity to engage with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is fantastic.”
