Campbell pleased with start but urges Durham to kick on

Durham Head Coach Ryan Campbell is happy with the start that Durham have made to the season, but has warned of sterner challenges ahead for his group.

Durham currently sit top of Division Two in the County Championship after four games, but the Australian wants his group to stay focused during the long campaign.

“It’s nice to be on top, of course it is, but we all know it’s a long season. We’ll get tested no doubt, but (it’s) not a bad way to start”, he said.

After their stellar start to the campaign where they have embraced playing with a positive attitude a la Ben Stokes with the England Test side, Durham host Yorkshire this week starting on Thursday, where they’re set to face Jonny Bairstow as he looks to build his fitness and form ahead of the Ashes starting in just over a month.
