The 2003 US Open winner has been added to the USA’s Ryder Cup team as Vice Captain alongside Steve Stricker and Davis Love III.
Two time major winner and Ryder Cup Captain Zach Johnson is hopeful that Jim Furyk’s experience in the Ryder Cup will be enough for his team to retain the trophy this September in Rome.
“I’ve been involved in the Ryder Cup Since 1997, and my passion for this event is unmatched” said Furyk.
Furyk has also just been named on Captain for the Presidents Cup for 2024 which will take place in Montreal.
Speaking on his selection to add Furyk to his backroom team, Johnson said “He understands what it takes to compete at the highest level, and how to be a team player. I will be leaning on his experience a ton in the lead up to Marco Simone in September”.
