South Shields FA Cup third qualifying round tie against Leek Town will be televised live on the BBC on Saturday.

Anyone with an interest in watching the Mariners in action can do so via the BBC Red Button, BBC iPlayer, or on the BBC Sport website. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 12:30 on Saturday afternoon.

BBC Sport pledged at the beginning of the season to give extra coverage to the FA Cup and has shown live coverage of every round thus far. Both sides will receive an up -ront broadcast fee of £2000, with an extra incentive for the winning club who will earn a further £5625 – while the losing side still pockets an additional £1875.

Julio Arca’s side saw off Northern League side Bishop Auckland in the previous qualifying round and will again face a side a few divisions below as Leek Town resides in the Northern Premier League (West) at step four of the non-league pyramid – two divisions beneath South Shields.

The winner of the tie will go into the fourth and final qualifying round, just one result away from joining the first round proper where professional sides begin to enter the prestigious competition.
