Match report: Gateshead Ladies 3 – 1 Hartlepool United Women FC Firsts
Gateshead Ladies secured a place in the First Round Proper of the Women’s FA Cup thanks to a hat trick from Sharon Bell.
Bell started the first 10 minutes on fire bagging herself a goal only eight minutes in.
Carl Morrison’s side came out strong and full of positivity despite last week’s County Cup defeat.
After the first goal it was back and forward football with both teams getting chances and coming close.
In the 36th minute Hartlepool came really close as the ball was played across the box with no one on the end of it.
Seven minutes later Bell got her second of the afternoon winning the ball inside the box and poking home a second for the heed.
Just 10 minutes into the second half Gateshead put the ball into the back of the net with the linesman demoing the goal offside.
Bell secured the hat-trick as a through ball from Liv Black found the feet of bell who slotted the ball home.
Hartlepool continued with the relentless pressure forcing some goal line clearances from Jess Richardson and Chloe Sharp.
In added time Hartlepool got their goal after the high pressure seen them get a consolation.
