BUCS Nationals medallist Ellie O’Halloran “very proud” of achievement
Team Sunderland Elite Athlete Ellie O’Halloran secured a bronze medal in the ambulant women’s shot put in this year’s BUCS Nationals.
Competing in the final on Sunday, February 25 O’Halloran recorded a throw of 7.83 metres which was enough to land her a spot on the podium – an achievement she is “very proud” of.
The Sports Coaching & PE student can add the medal to her cabinet alongside the gold medal she earned in last year’s Scottish Para Indoor Championships, with extra training to thank for her most recent achievement – marking the end of the indoor season with a piece of silverware.
“I’m very proud of my performance,” said O’Halloran after receiving her medal on the weekend. “Trainings been going so well, it’s a good way to finish the season.
“I feel like extra training this winter had more in the way that the outcome has been more consistent over the throws, which is good.
“BUCS this year has been amazing with seeing familiar faces, it’s a nice way to finish the season. Especially because you compete with the same people all the time.”
