GB4: Palmowski tops Donington test day one
Alisha Palmowski has backed up the pace she showed at Oulton Park last week by topping the first day of the test at the official media day test at Donington Park.
On the same day, championship operator MSV announced a €30,000 grant towards an F1 academy seat for the highest-placed female driver. Palmowski showed she was the frontrunner for said prize by finishing one and a half seconds ahead of her nearest female competitor, Megan Bruce. The other female competitor so far announced for this season is Flame Airikkala, the granddaughter of rally legend Pentti, who finished last, albeit improving by over 10 seconds during the day.
Overall, the day ended as follows:
1. Alisha Palmowski, Elite Motorsport, 1m28.852s
2. Harry Burgoyne, KMR Sport, +0.228s
3. Jack Taylor, Fortec Motorsport, +0.315s
4. Branden Templeton, Fox Motorsport, +0.469s
5. Leon Wilson, Arden Motorsport, +0.637s
6. Megan Bruce, Fox Motorsport, +1.493s
7. Dan Hickey, Fortec Motorsport, +1.636s
8. Flame Airikkala, Preptech UK, +3.344s
