UFC London: Molly McCann Returns and Former UFC Champion Added to Main Card

Liverpool’s own Molly McCann has been added to UFC Fight Night London where she will face the Brazilian Istela Nunes and former UFC Champion Jan Blachowicz is back after a 2 year lay-of.

McCann is back on UK soil and is ready to make her return to the Strawweight division against Nunes. McCann returns to the Octagon after she suffered a defeat to Bruna Brasil back in July at UFC 304 via unanimous decision. She is looking to get back into the win column in only her third fight in the strawweight division after moving down in weight from the flyweight division.

The 34-year-old’s last victory came in February earlier this year when she submitted Diana Belbita to earn her first win in her new weight class. When McCann debuted in the UFC back in 2018 she was loved by fans for her personality and trash talking approach to fighting. The highlight of McCann’s UFC career came in March 2022 where she knocked out Luana Carolina via a spinning back elbow which currently has over 1 million views across UFC’s social media platforms.

Also making his return to the octagon is former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz who returns to the cage for the first time since 2023 where he lost via a split decision to current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira. Jan is a beloved fighter among UFC fans and his highly anticipated return will be a treat for UK fans to witness after what will be a two year lay off come fight night in March 2025.

Blachowicz will be facing off against Light Heavyweight contender Carlos Ulberg who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Volkan Oezdemir in November. This fight is a big fight for the Light Heavyweight division as a win for either fighter may see a meeting with Alex Pereira in the ending period of 2025.

Mick Parkin has been added to the card as the Englishman will look to beat Poland’s Marcin Tybura in a fight which may see Parkin rise up the rankings and a potential big match up could be waiting for him if he were to win on the night.

UFC Fight Night: London is coming to the O2 Arena in London on March 22nd 2025 with tickets for the event being released on Friday 24th January 2025.
