Match Report: Sunderland Women’s 1sts 3-0 Leeds Trinity 1sts
Jade Danks scored a hat-trick, as Team Sunderland’s Women’s 1sts secured a 3-0 victory against Leeds Trinity 1sts at the Ford Hub on Wednesday.

Both teams made a slow start, battling it out for the opening goal, but in the first 15 minutes, neither tested the opposition goalkeeper.
Yet, the deadlock was broken in the 29th minute, when Danks scored her first of the game – putting Sunderland in control at half-time.
In the second half, both teams, once again, put up a strong defensive performance, but despite numerous chances, neither side were able to score the second goal.
However, Sunderland began to dominate possession, and the pressure on Leeds Trinity told when Danks scored from a free-kick to double her tally for the afternoon.

Shortly after, Danks completed her hat-trick, when she gained possession before firing an effort past the Leeds Trinity ‘keeper to give Sunderland a commanding lead.
Leeds Trinity tried to add a late consolation, but Sunderland held their own defensively as they looked to see out the clean sheet.
However, towards the end of the match, Sunderland continued to dominate possession, and saw out back-to-back wins.
