Manager Nicky Featherstone’s first game since his permanent deal ends in defeat as The Glovers frustrate in Hartlepool.
An early opener from Aaron Jarvis and Luke McCormick at the death was the difference in Teeside.
8th place Hartlepool’s former interim boss Nicky Featherstone was announced as manager the day before, with his side unchanged lineup for the last four games.
An effort from Luke McCormick just past the opening ten forced a great block from Max Kouogun after good hold up play from Jarvis to set it the club’s top goalscorer.
Less than a minute later Hartlepool’s Matty Daly cut into the box before his curled effort towards goal was saved by Jed Ward.
Yeovil Town opened the scoring 14 minutes in as Aaron Jarvis finished inside the six after a low-ball across from Mccormick on the left.
Brett McGavin for the visitors nearly found a second when his free kick went just wide past the post.
Past the half hour mark McCormick had another chance after Jarvis’ header was flicked onto the onrushing forward whose effort inside the box slammed off the post.
Just a few minutes later there was another close chance from the hosts, Jay Benn’s cross into the box evaded the boot of a full stretched Jamie Miley to conclude the first half.
To open the second half, Matty Daly had a curled effort from outside the box saved by Ward.
From a corner, Tom Parkes powered a header just over the bar after an in-swinger from Campbell.
Just past the hour, Yeovil broke through into the box via James Daly whose shot was well saved by Evans.
Two minutes into five added, Besart Topalloj sent a long range shot just over the bar.
Three minutes into added time, Yeovil made it 2-0 through a stunning long range strike from McCormick which curled perfectly into the bottom right corner.
As the full time whistle blew a huge brawl between both sides broke out and two red cards were shown to Jermaine Francis and Morgan Williams.
