Sunderland 3-0 Burnley: Black Cats break record for games unbeaten at home
Regis Le Bris’s side extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches with an impressive 3-0 victory over Scott Parker’s relegation-threatened Burnley.
Habib Diarra’s brace and a second-half strike from Chemsdine Talbi were enough to earn three points.

Le Bris was hoping for a much-improved performance following a disappointing result against West Ham last time out, but were still without captain Granit Xhaka.
However, they began the game by-far the better side, controlling the possession, and with less than 10 minutes played, they took the lead.
A flick from Brian Brobbey allowed Diarra to run into the box before unleashing a shot. His first attempted effort was blocked by Maxime Esteve, but it fell back to his feet and it found the back of the net following a deflection of Axel Tuanzebe.
Burnley’s day went from bad to worse, when a ball from Enzo Le Fee found Nordi Mukiele out wide, whose cut back fell again to the feet of Diarra and he blasted it through the hands of Martin Dubravka.
Despite Burnley starting the second half with more aggression, Sunderland still had the better chances and almost earning a third when Brobbey was able to spin his man in the box, but Dubravka was able to push it wide and Mukiele skied the rebound.
With 20 minutes still to play, Sunderland did get a deserved third through Talbi. He picked the ball from the flank before cutting inside and unleashing a superb curling strike from the edge of the box, hitting the bar on its way in with the keeper having absolutely no chance.
It became one-way traffic with Trai Hume almost getting on the scoresheet after a dinked cross from Reinildo found him, and his volley was seemingly goal bound however Esteve blocked it well.
At the death, Sunderland almost got their fourth with Wilson Isidor shooting from close range; however it again was blocked well by the recovering defenders.
The result sees the Black Cats rise to joint-seventh with Sunderland playing Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday at 3:00.
