Preview: Premier League Darts Night 17 | London
The Premier League Darts finals night awaits with Luke Littler, Jonny Clayton, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price all battling it out to get their hands on the Premier League trophy.
Semi-final 1: Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price
Littler and Price meet for the seventh time in this year’s campaign. The Nuke has won all six previous meetings including the final in Dublin where he came from 5-0 down to win 6-5.
Littler is unbeaten in all 16 of his major televised semi-final matches. The Nuke beat the Iceman in the same stage last year, winning 10-7. Price was 6-4 up as the tie headed into the second break.
The Iceman led the Nuke in multiple huge games last year but failed to get over the line. If the 2023 can start the way he did in Dublin and back it up in the latter legs he has every chance of reaching the final.
My prediction: Luke Littler 8-10 Gerwyn Price
Semi-final 2: Jonny Clayton vs Luke Humphries
Clayton takes on Humphries as Cool Hand looks to retain the Premier League title. The world #2 was seventh in the table after night 10 but reached four consecutive finals in the final four weeks and clinched third spot.
Clayton started the season in style and led the table for the majority of the early stages. The pair have met four times this season with the Ferret winning three times.
The Ferret won four nights after being reselected following two seasons away from Thursday night action.
My prediction: Jonny Clayton 10-8 Luke Humphries
Littler, Humphries and Clayton all already have Premier League title to their name.
Can Price finally beat Littler, and could this be the year the Iceman finally gets over the line in the Premier League?
