Stephen Bunting secures second nightly win: Premier League Darts Night 16 – Sheffield  

The Bullet ends the season on a real high finishing fifth, three places better off than last season.  

Bunting overcame three of the four qualifiers beating Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries on his way to victory.  

Cool Hand despite sitting seventh after Night 10 has secured third place in this year’s Premier League.  

Match 1: Jonny Clayton vs Stephen Bunting 

The Bullet started the night with a win over the Ferret. The world #10 kick started the night in fine fashion taking an early 3-0 lead. 

 After five holds of throw including a 101checkout from Clayton and a 102 from Bunting, the Bullet pinned double 12 for the match. 

Despite defeat the Ferret averaged just under 105, and heads to the O2 for finals night next week.

Match 2:  Gerwyn Price vs Gian van Veen 

Price added an extra two points to his name with a win over Gian van Veen. The Iceman like Bunting, got off to a fine start taking a four-leg lead averaging almost 106.  

The young Dutchman won two legs on the spin but that was all he could conjure up. Price took out 112 for the match in unique fashion hitting single 18, treble 20, double 17 to set up a semi-final clash with the Bullet.

Match 3: Luke Littler vs Josh Rock  

Josh Rock forced Luke Littler to a deciding leg but was unable to get over the line. Rocky’s debut Premier League campaign ended as it went for the majority of the season missed chances and another defeat. The world #7 spurned 18 darts at the outer ring against the World #1.  

After six holds of throw, Rock broke Littler to take a 4-3 lead. Littler won the next two legs, then after both spurned multiple darts, Rock eventually pinned double one to send the tie all the way. 

Result: Luke Littler (87.89) 6-5 (89.43) Josh Rock 

Match 4: Luke Humphries vs Michael van Gerwen 

Cool Hand continued his stunning end of season form with a last leg win over Michael van Gerwen. Humphries averaged 105 and hit 17 100+ visits.  

The Green Machine broke Cool Hand in leg three but Humphries instantly broke back and they both held throw and van Gerwen sent the tie all the way.  

The reigning Premier League champ pinned double 16 to set up a seventh meeting with the Nuke this season.  

Result: Luke Humphries (105.24) 6-5 (100.66) Michael van Gerwen 

Semi-final 1: Stephen Bunting vs Gerwyn Price 

Price took an early two leg lead but was pinned back by the Bullet. In the third leg Bunting  

There was a pause in play during leg four as the Iceman and the Bullet stopped play and requested that two people booing in the crowd were to be ejected.  

After the pause in play the Bullet went onto win five of the next six legs. Bunting took out 161 in leg seven to regain the lead and it all went his way from there. The former Masters champ pinned double 18 for a spot in the final.

Semi-final 2: Luke Littler vs Luke Humphries  

Despite the Nuke winning the first leg, Cool Hand went onto win the following six. Littler only had two shots at the outer ring whilst Humphries missed 10 darts to see of legs.  

The world #2 pinned double nine for his fourth consecutive final. Victory means Humphries sealed third spot and will play Clayton at the O2 with Price taking on Littler.  

Result: Luke Littler (95.97) 1-6 (100.82) Luke Humphries 

Final: Stephen Bunting vs Luke Humphries 

Bunting finished the night off in style against the world #2. The Bullet smashed in seven maximums and despite missing six at double, he eventually got over the line.  

The world #10 took an early three leg lead, Humphries came back and won three of the next five. Bunting pinned double eight for all five points in the Steel City.

The Bullet ends the campaign in fifth place on 18 points. The Premier League of Darts heads to London next week as Littler, Clayton, Humphries and Price all seek the 2026 Premier League trophy.
