Preview: Premier League Darts Night 14 – Leeds
Luke Humphries returns to Leeds looking for his first nightly win with only three weeks action left to go ahead of the Play-Offs at the O2.
Match 1: Gerwyn Price vs Jonny Clayton
In an all-Welsh tie Gerwyn Price takes on Jonny Clayton in the opener. Clayton is already qualified on 32 points, with Price sat third on 21 three points ahead of Michael van Gerwen and five points ahead of the rest of the chasing pack.
Price came from 5-3 down to overcome Stephen Bunting last week. The Ferret suffered a first-round defeat losing 6-2 to Gian van Veen.
My prediction: Gerwyn Price 6-4 Jonny Clayton
Match 2: Luke Littler vs Michael van Gerwen
League leader Luke Littler takes on van Gerwen in the second quarter-final of the night. The Nuke has won back-to-back nights and sits top with 34 points after 13 weeks.
Van Gerwen has failed to win a night since week one in Newcastle and despite currently sitting in the top four, is only two points above fifth and sixth.
My prediction Luke Littler 6-3 Michael van Gerwen
Match 3: Josh Rock vs Luke Humphries
Humphries takes on Josh Rock on his return to Leeds. Cool Hand reached just his second final last week and is determined to steal a play-off spot with three weeks of the regular campaign remaining.
Rock has suffered defeat in the last two weeks and remains bottom of the table on eight points.
My prediction: Josh Rock 3-6 Luke Humphries
Match 4: Gian van Veen vs Stephen Bunting
Van Veen is also on the hunt for a spot in the top four and faces Bunting, who with a nightly win would give himself a real chance.
The Bullet is currently seventh on 11 points just seven points off van Gerwen in fourth. Van Veen sits sixth level on 16 points with Humphries.
My prediction: Gian van Veen 6-4 Stephen Bunting
