Team Sunderland women go down to Richmond in National League volleyball

Team Sunderland women’s division one volleyball team lost in straight sets over the weekend when they hosted Richmond VB.

Playing in City Space, the women lost 21-15, 22-25 and 15-25. Team coach Jodie Amor noted it is still a relatively new division to the ladies and it will take some time for them to gel as a squad which she is certain will happen with more time together.

Despite losing, there were still several positives to take from the game, notably an improvement in their defensive play which Amor highlighted the team worked on heavily in training.

Team Sunderland women will once again take to the court on Saturday 23rd October, when they come up against Team South Wales.
