Director of football Jamie Chandler hailed his Year 9 group as they dominated Seaham High away from home, a win which put his side top of the Sunderland Schools League only three matches in.

A hat-trick from Johsh Lounton stole the show, while Lewy Thompson, Zac Smith and Alex Mapstone made themselves heard on the occasion.

Chandler praised “another really positive performance from the players” before adding he hoped it set them perfectly for greater challenges in the cup soon.

He told SportsByte: “It was another really positive performance from the players.

“It’s been a great start for the players who have enjoyed three wins out of three, but the biggest positive has been the manner in which they have performed.

“We have worked on a number of sessions built around the technical and tactical side of the game and the players have implemented their learning fantastically well into the games.

“We have an exciting National Cup game away to Ponteland and I have no doubt this will be our toughest test yet.

“We will relish the challenge and work hard towards maintains the high standards we have set.”
