Lockdown halts Team Sunderland activity

After the new government announcements regarding a second lockdown Team Sunderland has had to end all activity until 2nd December.

Since returning to action in September Team Sunderland have offered a free membership until January for students wishing to sign up for the array of clubs on offer.

Team Sunderland Sport Development Officer Laura Hockaday said: “We’re so disappointed that we’ve had to put our activities on hold but we’ve been so impressed with the volume of students that have got involved with sport in the last few months in trying circumstances.”

“All the clubs have worked so hard to make their sessions safe and have helped restore a sense of normality for their members.”

She added: “As soon as we are able to safely return to action we will be doing so.”

Team Sunderland committee members were required to take COVID safety training before returning to action which was well attended.

During the lockdown Team Sunderland will be running activities to help engage students throughout the four week lockdown.
