Match report: Hebburn Town 4 – 4 Ossett United
A last-minute own goal ensured Hebburn Town left the game with a point after throwing a 3-0 lead.
The first goal of the game came in the eighth minute from Hebburn’s Dean Briggs.
Just two minutes later in the tenth minute the lead was doubled by Robbie Spence.
Hebburn then scored once again in the 30th minute by a goal from captain Amar Purewal.
Ossett managed to grab a goal before half time scoring in the 42nd minute from Jani Lipka.
Ossett United scored again in 51st minute with a goal from Corey Gregory.
The score was brought level with a penalty for Ossett in the 84th converted by Gregory.
With just minutes to go Ossett United took the lead in the 89th minute with a goal from Rafa Ferreira.
However, it was not meant to be as Hebburn Town were saved by an own goal from Gregory ending the match 4-4.
Hebburn Town went into the game sitting top of the league after winning their last game 2-0. Ossett United went into the game sitting 14th on the back of a 3-1 defeat.
The first goal of the game came just eight minutes in when Briggs cleverly passed his marker to fire home his shot.
The second goal followed shortly after when a brilliant cross from the left-hand side by Briggs was headed back of the net from Spence.
The ‘Hornets’ then managed to score once again as Captain Purewal headed a cross from Dan Groves to make it 3-0.
However, the clean sheet was not meant to be as Ossett pulled a goal back just before half time when a strike from Lipka passed everyone.
It was Ossett who started the second half on top and just six minutes in closed the gap with a header from Gregory as a result of a failed clearance.
The game was then brought level with a penalty from Gregory as a result of a Hebburn defender bringing him down in the box.
A defensive mix up then saw a cross find its way to Ferreira who gave Ossett the lead with just minutes to go.
However, the comeback was not meant to be for Ossett as a last-minute own goal from Gregory meant points were shared.
