The Road to WrestleMania goes through Europe
Starting on March 14th with Friday Night Smackdown, WWE will pass through Europe on the road to WrestleMania.
For the first time in six years, the WWE will be doing a Live show of Monday Night Raw in London on March 31st. On Monday, it was officially announced that from March 14th to March 31st, there will be live events, as well as Raw and Smackdown in Europe.
Success in Europe
The WWE has started to branch out of the usual territory of the USA and more recently has begun to do more tours and significant events in Europe. This expansion indicates the growing influence and popularity of WWE in Europe. In recent years, it came to the UK for Clash At the Castle (Twice) and Money In The Bank in 2023.
Earlier this year, in Lyon, France, the WWE put on its premium live event, Backlash, which many say had the best crowd of the year and they followed it in Germany when WWE put on Bash in Berlin during the summer. The success of both event’s is a testament to the passion and dedication of our European fan base.
It is a first for Europe as they get to be part of the WWE’s most crucial time of the year, the Road to WrestleMania. Expect to see some big names there, such as current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, current World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Rhea Ripley. Who knows, maybe an appearance or two from The Rock, with rumours saying he will be part of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
WWE superstars will be in Europe for three weeks, with eleven dates. The first is March 14th in Barcelona, followed by a run through Italy, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. The UK will finish the tour starting March 24th in Glasgow, Scotland, with their last show being in London with Raw on the 31st.
The shows in the UK have brought WWE nothing but success with sold-out attendances, broken arena records, and crowds that made the atmosphere feel like a Premier League ground. They also brought to the attention of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who met with WWE president Nick Khan and Triple H about potentially bringing WrestleMania to the UK.
The timing could not be better for WWE with the Netflix deal kicking in from January 2025, a three-week tour across Europe, a viewing experience fans can enjoy in person and from their sofa.
