Newcastle Benfield Vs Boro Rangers Match Preview

Newcastle Benfield welcome Boro Rangers to the MKM Stadium tomorrow afternoon in a massive Northern League Division One fixture.

Last time out…

Benfield beat Penrith 2-0 under the lights at home thanks to goals from Glen Hargrave and Andre Bennett . The win saw The Lions move up to 11th place on 37 points just six points away from the playoffs.

Previous meeting…

Boro and Benfield last met in late August.

Boro Rangers took all three points winning 4-2 at Phoenix Park, goals from Noah Millington and Callum Guy were not enough for Benfield to make a late comeback. Andy Ferguson will be hoping his team can show how far they have come along since the reverse fixture and get on the correct side of the scoreline in tomorrow’s match.

Where the sides sit…

The Lions are placed 11th in the table and are only looking upwards as the gap to the playoffs closes game by game. Boro sit in the final playoff position in fifth place with 43 points. Their last match saw them overcome Sunderland RCA away from home in the Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup winning 2-0.

If Benfield want to make their playoff dream come true, a win tomorrow would be the perfect way to go about it.

Leo’s Pre-match predictions…

Tomorrow is a massive game for both sides. Boro Rangers will be looking to continue on their path for promotion. To do that they will have to beat Newcastle Benfield, however that is a task that many sides have struggled to succeed in since Ferguson’s appointment.

“Since Ferguson took over, Benfield have only lost once and sit joint first in the form table, it will be a high-level match with both teams going for the win.

“I can see the sides cancelling each other out resulting in a 1-1 draw.”
