Sunderland Under 21’s are back in action on Friday evening against Nottingham Forest Under 21’s at the Stadium of Light.
The young Black Cats are looking to seal back-to-back victories after a 3-0 win over Leeds back in March. Finn Geragusian’s brace and a late goal from captain Harrison Jones helped Graeme Murty’s side to a vital three points.
Murty’s side are hoping to seal a Play-Off spot with three games to go. The Lads will also be hoping to seal a spot in next years Premier League International Cup. The top 12 earn a place in the competition and the Black Cats currently sit 13th in the league.
Nottingham Forest are led by former Hull and Wigan manager Warren Joyce. Joyce has had roles in the youth teams since 2021.
Forest’s main outlet is attacking midfielder Jack Nadin with eight goal contributions in 17 games this season.
Forest suffered a 3-2 defeat to Newcastle on Monday evening. The Reds currently sit 17th one place outside the Play-Offs and four points behind Sunderland with three games to play.
