Match Report: Sunderland 2-0 Wolves
Sunderland AFC continued their unbeaten home run in this season’s Premier League, with a 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.
Nordi Mukiele struck his first Sunderland goal with a calm and composed finish past Sam Johnstone to give the Lads the lead, before Ladislav Krejci’s unfortunate own goal sealed the win for Regis Le Bris’ side.

Le Bris made two changes from their defeat at Manchester United, with Chris Rigg and Dan Ballard replacing Simon Adingra and Arthur Masuaku.
The visitors, likewise, also made changes from their draw at home to Brighton, as Matt Doherty returned from injury to replace Jackson Tchatchoua and Rodrigo Gomes replaced Hee-Chan Hwang.
Sunderland made a positive start, and they saw the game’s first chance in the ninth minute, when Wilson Isidor was fed through on goal by an exquisite pass over Santiago Bueno – putting him one-on-one against Johnstone. The striker’s effort hit the roof of the net, but it got disallowed for making his run to early.
Yet, in the 17th minute, the deadline was broken and Le Bris’ side took a well-deserved lead.
Enzo Le Fee was, again, the man showing his creativity, by doing twists and turns on Matt Doherty – dragging him out of his position. This allowed Mukiele to capitalise on the space with a one-two with Trai Hume, before slotting the ball under Johnson and into the back of the net.

Wolves were hanging on, as in the 25th minute, Mukiele sent one of his deadly long throws into the box, with Ballard flicking the ball onto Hume, whose header crashed against the post.
The visitors started to regain more of control of the game towards the end of the first half, but they couldn’t make anything come of it, with the attack looking disjointed.
In the second half, Wolves took the game to Sunderland – pressing them high up the pitch, searching for that important equaliser.
However, the first shot of the half fell to Sunderland, as a well-timed lifted ball over the top by Omar Alderete was met by Isidor, who controlled the ball before dragging his shot wide of the right post.
Wolves managed their first test on Robin Roefs’ goal in the 69th minute, but Marshall Munetsi’s monstrous strike was denied by a smart save down to his left from the Sunderland ‘keeper.
In the 85th minute, Wolves thought they had their equaliser, when Jorgen Strand Larsen, who was quiet for majority of the game, sent a delicious pass over the Sunderland defence – sending Tchatchoua through on goal. However, his effort was snatched well wide of the target.
Two minutes into injury time, Sunderland sealed another three huge points. The hosts broke from a Wolves corner, with Chemsdine Talbi driving at Wolves’ out-of-shape defence, before looking to pass to Mayenda. Yet, his low ball deflected off the boot of Krejci – putting the ball past a helpless Johnstone.
