The Yorkshire teen has claimed over 30 trophies in his career and finished 3rd overall in the 2026 UAE4 Series earlier this year.

Rowan initially joined the XCEL Motorsport team for the Formula Trophy Campaign which saw him have an impressive series, claiming a race victory and multiple podium finishes.

He has decided to continue his work with the team as he makes the step up into the GB3 championship, following the success they had together in the previous series.

Rowan said: “This event marked the end of one chapter and the start of another. It’s provided a unique opportunity to look back on an incredible year of racing, but also to celebrate the next step forward in my career.

“It’s more power, more aero, more mechanical grip, bigger tires so effectively it’s just a lot faster… round corners you can carry so much more speed.

“It is always such an honour to represent Sheffield on the world stage. It means a huge amount to me and I can’t wait to do it again across Europe.”

The new car has numerous upgrades in aerodynamics including the introduction of DRS (Drag Reduction System) that was commonly seen in the likes of Formula 1.

The larger, 2.4L engine will provide Rowan with more power than he has experienced before, enabling him to reach speeds of over 150mph.

During the event, Rowan was presented with the Sheffield Youth Award for Sports and Fitness Star for his commitment and dedication to motorsport. There were also multiple performances from the Gemini School of Dance who entertained with three spectacular dances throughout the night.

The step to GB3 means that Rowan will now be racing on multiple tracks that’s are currently used in the Formula 1 calendar including Silverstone, Spa – Francorchamps, Hungaroring and Red Bull Ring.

The driver’s full attention is now on the season opener at Silverstone in late April where he will make his GB3 debut.
