Cadillac and Andretti express interest to enter F1
Today, the FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem tweeted that Andretti Global along with GM Brand Cadillac have expressed interest to enter Formula One in a joint works outfit effort.
Over the last year, Andretti has been banging the drum both in public and behind closed doors. While most of the paddock was hesitant about this entry, this development is huge for the grid and F1’s technical and sporting prospects.
While on Tuesday it was announced that the process for a new team would be opened, such a huge development so soon was unexpected and should now pull the trigger for other rumoured OEMs who are sniffing around to submit expressions of interest, such as Hyundai and Ford.
However, this is not a guaranteed entry for the team, as they now must submit letters of intent and business plans to the FIA. Whom then will approve the entry and work on the car drivers and personal will be allowed to begin.
So while this is a huge step, it isn’t the final step for a new F1 entry to be granted to Andretti and Cadillac
