Preview: Premier League Darts Night Eight – Berlin

The BetMGM Premier League of Darts heads to Berlin on Thursday night, with Luke Humphries hoping to build on a successful weekend in Wieze where he won the Belgian Darts Open.

Match 1: Jonny Clayton vs Josh Rock

Jonny Clayton takes on Josh Rock in the opener in Germany in a battle of top vs bottom. Clayton suffered his first quarter final defeat last week losing 6-3 to Luke Humphries.

Rock suffered a whitewash defeat via Gerwyn Price and averaged 84 as his wait for a win goes on. The pair met in night one and kickstarted the 2026 campaign with the Ferret dismantling the world #7 6-2.

My prediction: Jonny Clayton 6-3 Josh Rock

Match 2: Luke Humphries vs Michael van Gerwen

The world #2 takes on the world #4 in the second quarter final. The pair met in the semi-final of the Belgian Open at the weekend with Cool Hand winning 7-2 on his way to picking up the title.

The pair have met twice in the competition so far with a win a piece. The Green Machine beat Cool Hand 6-2 in the Newcastle semi-final. Humphries obliterated the world #4 in Cardiff with a 6-1 victory.

My prediction: Luke Humphries 6-4 Michael van Gerwen

Match 3: Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting

Luke Littler faces Stephen Bunting in a repeat of last week’s quarter final in Dublin. The Nuke overcame the bullet 6-3 on his way to picking up his second nightly win.

The pair have met 13 times since the Nuke burst onto the scene with the world #1 winning nine to Bunting’s four. The Bullet’s last win over Littler was in the Polish Darts Masters in July last year, the 19-year-old has won the last three meetings.

My prediction: Luke Littler 6-2 Stephen Bunting

Match 4: Gerwyn Price vs Gian van Veen

Gian van Veen hopes to return to action after having to pull out last week due to medical reasons. The #3 was also forced to pull out of the Euro Tour in Belgium.

The pair have met twice so far in the Premier League with one win a piece. Price got the better of the young Dutchman in Antwerp where he went on to win the night. Van Veen overcame the Welshman in the semi-final in Belfast with both ties going to last leg deciders.

My prediction: Gerwyn Price 6-4 Gian van Veen
